“I help to take the stress out of learning English by supporting students to learn in a way that works for them – simplifying tricky concepts and terminology and using inspiring resources to bring language and literature to life.

I am a qualified teacher with a wealth of experience gained from working in the community, in schools and in further education settings. I am passionate about English and love to inspire others to enjoy a good book or a piece of poetry just as much as I do!

French and Italian Tutoring

Lou says:

“I help build confidence and motivation when learning languages by setting small manageable goals from lesson to lesson. Learning a language requires discipline and hard work across all four learning components; listening, reading, writing, and speaking. I tend to vary the lessons to stay focused and engaged across all skill areas using engaging primary source material.

I am an experienced tutor with over five years of experience working with 1:1 and small group learners from beginners to advanced levels. The most popular package is her 12-week beginners’ course which can be tailored to any age group. I run a successful weekly French homework club on Zoom on a Wednesday 5-6 pm in term-time.

I live for languages and have been passionate about learning French since the age of 11 as I always knew I wanted to study languages at university from a young age. I am a friendly and encouraging tutor who believes making mistakes ultimately makes us better linguists!
